Q
Does it work with most materials, aluminum, titanium and steel tubings with same resolution, 0.01mm? Can it be used on bent tubing to determine thinning during bending?Mohammad S. on Aug 28, 2017
A
Best answer Hello Mohammad, thank you for your question. Yes this ultrasonic thickness gauge will work with different type of metals. You would just need to change the velocity of the sound wave on the gauge to the respected metal you are measuring. Yes the gauge should be able to help you determine and thinning of the tube caused by bending or corrosion.

Concern about accuracy. Don't want to replace 4000 sq.ft. of chinese made flooring based on a false reading. PLease advise.Gene H. on Oct 26, 2017
A
Best answer Hello Gene, thank you for your question. The meters accuracy has been tested and falls at +/-0.03 mg/m3 or +/-5%. We are aware of the issues with Chinese flooring. Our recommendation is not only to use this meter but also check with the manufacturing date of the flooring as the affected flooring was manufactured between 2012-2014.

Q
How does this unit perform when measuring the thickness of layered materials? We need to measure the thickness of concrete lined ductile iron pipe. Would this give us the total thickness(metal pipe + concrete lining) or just the thickness of the metal? Does material in the pipe affect the measurement?Josh B. on Feb 15, 2018
A
Best answer Hello Josh, thank you for your question. No our ultrasonic thickness gauges will not be able to measure the thickness of concrete. If what you are measuring is concrete lined then this gauge is not suitable for your application.
