General Description
Insulated Duct – Flexible PVC – 305mm (Diameter) * 4.88M (Length)
The PVC flexible air ventilation duct is 305 mm in diameter and has a length of 4.88M. The insulated duct is made out of a PVC material and is able to endure temperatures between -20°C and +80°C.
Function
The PVC flexible air ventilation duct allows air to travel through helix wire-framed ducting, circulating fresh air or removing unwanted air flow. One end of the roof cowl can be attached via strap to a ventilator, and the ducts can be attached to one another, inter-connecting them, using the same strapping method. The air duct has three layers of fabric: an outer and an inner layer made of fire-retardant PVC fabric a middle layer of insulation.
Applications
The flex duct may be used in any duct system environment with damaging chemicals, especially as floor ducting in a laboratory, in engineering settings, engine rooms, air conditioning systems or plant works.

Will the glass wool insulation repel animals in the crawl space? Is 10 inch diameter the standard for home central heat and air units?

What is the R Value of the cotton insulation in these ducts?
The R value of these ducts is around 3.5.
Can this duct be used for venting a range hood? It is 1000 cm a minute, so it's just domestic, but it travels 6m to the vent in the eaves, so I need something strong and heat resistant. It's over a gas cooktop with 800 clearance to the underside of hood.
Our insulated ducts with glass wool are mainly used in air-conditioning systems, and are not ideal for venting a range hood. We would suggest using D1146669-PVC Flexible Duct instead.
If I'm using this insulated duct under a mobile home, is the PVC harder for mice to chew or get into? I read and see it does not say rodent resistant.
Hi Diane. To answer your question, most of the flexible ductings are not rodent resistant. Our insulated duct is made with 2 layers of PVC compound fabrics and 1 layer of cotton, which means the thickness is 3mm. It could possibly still be chewed by mice and rodents, but it won't be able to be broken into as easily.
Can this insulated flexible 6" duct be used for bathroom vent through the roof ?

What is the R value of the glass/wool insulated flexible ducting?
